The Spanish design studio Rodriguez Design has unveiled the renderings for a new 84-metre superyacht concept, Catalina. The concept behind the development of this extravagant yacht was to create the perfect charter superyacht. Catalina’s interior has been penned by Ignacio Rodriguez, who describes the interior styling as “modern and chic”, with pastel blue accents and bronze details tastefully dotted around the inside of the yacht. “The styling of the yacht marks the style language direction of the studio coming into 2023: simple yet elegant lines. Not overtly covered in accents or details, subtle and understated yet rich and complex” says Josh Rodriguez, owner of Rodriguez Design.Catalina promises a luxurious experience for guests, offering an abundance of extravagant features. The superyacht has a 15.72-metre beam and can accommodate up to eight guests and 22 crew. Her open-plan saloon is located on the main deck alongside her dining area, perfect for informal occasions, such as buffet breakfasts or afternoon aperitivo. The main deck also features the owners suite and two VIP suites. The lower deck presents even more surprises, with a fully equipped sauna, spa, massage room and hairdressing station located in the aft, alongside the guest sleeping area which holds three double staterooms. The interior of the upper deck holds an oversized upper saloon with floor to ceiling windows that provide guests with uninterrupted views from the sanctuary of the saloon. Her double sliding door also gives the impression of being perched right onto the sea, creating a “fishbowl” effect, and allowing for copious amounts of sunlight to flood the space.

The centre of the saloon includes a tastefully arranged reading area with two opposite facing sofas, which alongside the fully equipped bar area can serve perfectly as a late evening cocktail arrangement. The main intention behind Catalina was to focalise the exterior use of the yacht. With numerous exciting features spanning across all five decks, there is unlimited opportunity for entertainment and relaxation onboard.

Her 102 square-metre beach deck can be extended by 40 square-metres with the touch of a button. The area contains a pool, which is equipped with a counter flow system, offering guests the choice to relax or exercise, while her mezzanine deck holds a Jacuzzi flanked by two sunk-in sun pads. The main deck aft provides an area for guests to relax, with two L-shaped sofas and a coffee table, perfect for unwinding in the late evening.Heading upwards, her upper deck houses the second biggest outside area with plenty of sumptuous seating for guests to relax, alongside an oversized sun pad, a U-shaped sofa, and two wet bars. Aft of the upper deck is the alfresco dining area, with a table that can seat up to 12 people, flanked by a teppanyaki barbeque area and a fully equipped bar.

Her sky deck is filled with luxurious features such as a Jacuzzi, sun pads, an aft facing bar area and seating for up to eight people. This area is perfect for guests looking to catch a break from socialising, sit back, and enjoy basking in the sun.In terms of performance, Catalina can be equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system that delivers a 6,500 nautical mile range when cruising at 12 knots, and a top speed of 16 knots.
